Project comprised construction of a new three storey steel framed (c.12000m2)  Berwickshire High School in Duns. The Project formed part of the Scottish Borders Schools PPP agreement between Scottish Borders Council the Scottish Borders Education Partnership and John Graham (Dromore) Ltd to build three new schools across the Scottish Borders.

The very high quality of design was complimented by a wide range of sustainable design features resulting in the building achieving an “Excellent” Rating from BREEAM.

The construction works involved extensive remodelling of existing site levels, construction of new school building and extensive external works – hard and soft landscaping and formation of sports fields.

Sustainable design features included:- Biomass Boilers, on site wind turbine, use of thermal massing in design and specification to optimize internal environment, extensive SUDs systems and rainwater recycling systems.
