The project comprises the construction of a new architecturally striking and highly sustainable Visitor Reception Building together with extensive external works all within existing wooded area.
The Visitors Reception Building will provide a range of facilities and amenities including reception, ticketing and shop together with café and terrace, conference / multi-purpose room and associated office, kitchen and ancillary space.
The new building comprises reinforced concrete basement and 2 storey specialist structural timber frame with timber weatherboard cladding and curtain walling to external walls and a green Sedum roof system. Internal finishes include very high quality oak linings to walls and ceilings and bespoke reception counters.
The building incorporates a range of sustainable features including:- Ground Source Heat Pump; underfloor heating; rainwater harvesting system, packaged sewage treatment works. The building has been designed to achieve a Very Good BREEAM Rating.
External works include formation of new access roads, parking areas, footpaths, retaining walls and extensive soft landscaping to minimise impact of new development on existing mature landscape
